Middle-aged and old trees have a high value in the fight against climate change, and every one of us must put in a lot more effort to save them.
Watering with the TREEIB® system could be an important step in achieving this aim.
TREEIB OFFERS THE TOOLKIT

TREEIB® offers everyone, who cares for large trees, an algorithm on how to get involved with protecting the trees. It will provide an information packet, containing evidence, data and arguments in favour of the mature trees. Mature trees are an important phenomena in urban areas, and it is our responsibility to present this information to the decision makers. We must make it possible, to save our historic tree heritage for future generations.
BASED ON THE SCIENCE
We carried out an extensive review of all theoretical literature, and we talked to many field-related science experts. Even though we have tested the TREEIB® method for three years, and we know that we don’t know everything; with our, as of present, positive results (*), we can say we have a chance to reduce the decline of large trees in urbanized landscapes.

SURPRISINGLY POSITIVE RESULTS
Although it is known that tree decline is caused by a number of factors, it is surprising how many positive results have been documented, just because of proper watering technique. ​
TREEIB® is a completely non invasive measure and a flexible solution. Because the watering is done only few times a year, the number of TREEIB® irrigation bags needed for a city to cover its mature tree population, is much smaller, than the number of bags needed for newly planted trees.

What is the purpose of TREEIB
®
TREEIB® bags are designed to irrigate slowly, with the right amount of water, at the right distance from the tree trunk, where the feeding (fine) roots are. This is on the canopy dripline and beyond. The irrigation dosage is aimed to be supportive. The bags are not designed to be a substitute for all the water needs of the tree, because it would be counterproductive for the stability of the tree and its longevity.

The product helps generate leaves and biomass quickly, which is important in these times of climate change.
PRIMARY USE
TREEIB® is to be used as irrigation for mature trees, to help them adapt to the signs of climate change, which are mainly drought and heat waves. A four-dosage per year irrigation cycle is suggested, to achieve a stabilization effect on the trees.

What is the tree age range, this bag is designed for?
Our irrigation bags are designed for trees ranging from 5 to 10,000 years of age. It is for every and any tree, that has feeding roots more than a meter from the tree trunk. We place a special emphasis on urban trees, either in parks or streets.
