ESTABLISHED TREES WATERING

Reconsidering Watering Practices in Times of Water Insecurity and Climate Change
Do you water established trees? They can lose stability because of wrong watering practices. The devil is called
shallow rooting, caused by a small amount of water with high frequency! Typically when the turfs are irrigated by sprinklers.

How deep do fine roots grow?
The highest density of tree fine roots is in the first 20 cm /8 inches of topsoil due to easy access to water, oxygen, and nutrients.

Reshaping Arboriculture in Times of Climate Change
Download the presentation by Martin Tušer and Prof. William Moomaw from the Annual ISA Conference in Abuquerque.
An interesting insight of what is going on in planting activities which are now taking place are opinions of a person, who stands at the beginning of tree planting all over the world: Prof. Dr. Thomas Crowther. Now he admits, although he and his team never intended, the communication mistakes of their work from 2016 resulted damages, because planting trees became a simple solution to beat the climate change. I recommend listening to the TED video from 2020
